2 hurt when car strikes fire truck

Two people were injured in a crash involving a fire truck downtown this afternoon.

A car collided with a fire engine at Congress and Columbus in The Loop.

A silver Sentra spun up on the curb and hit a parked car.

Witnesses say the driver of the Sentra didn’t stop for the sirens and tried to turn left.

She and a woman passenger were extricated from the car and rushed to a hospital in serious to critical condition.
