2 high school students jailed over saggy pants

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two high school students in Tennessee wound up in jail because their pants were too low.

Four students at this high school were charged with indecent exposure for wearing saggy pants.

Two of them were sent to jail. One of them spent 48 hours behind bars, with adult inmates, in the county jail. That boy had previously been suspended for gang intimidation.

He lives with his great-grandmother, and is now wondering how he will pay for $250 in court costs.

Civil libertarians are wondering how a kid can spend time in jail for violating a school dress code.
