The men accused of shooting two police officers during a 20-hour hostage standoff in the south suburbs appeared in bond court Friday.

David Jordan and Peter Williams are charged with attempted murder of a police officer, aggravated criminal sexual assault, home invasion and aggravated kidnapping.

Bond was set at $2.5 million for Williams, 42, of Chicago, and at $2 million for Jordan, 40, a convicted murderer from Dixmoor.

Police say Jordan and Williams took two adults and six children hostage during a burglary at a home in Harvey Tuesday afternoon.

They shot two Harvey police officers responding to the scene but their wounds were not life-threatening.

The standoff ended peacefully Wednesday morning.

Prosecutors say both suspects have criminal records. Jordan was on parole for killing a cab driver in 1990.
