ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – A woman was killed and a state trooper was injured in a crash on Interstate 55 Friday.
Officials said the woman’s car hit an Illinois State Police trooper vehicle around 2 a.m. on southbound I-55 near Weber Road in Romeoville.

Authorities said Danielle Nino, 33, of Crest Hill, lost control of her Fiat. The car overturned and struck a trooper’s vehicle.
The squad car was sitting in a construction zone at the time.
Nino was pronounced dead at the scene.
The trooper was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
