1 dead, 1 critically injured in South Austin drive-by shooting

One man is dead and another man was critically injured in a drive by shooting Thursday night.

The shooting happened in the South Austin neighborhood on the 5700 block of W. Augusta around 9p.m.

Three men were in front of a building when someone in a tan Lincoln MKZ drove by and shot them Chicago Police said.

The two injured men were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where a 22-year-old man was pronounced dead. The second, 23, was shot in the torso and the left leg, and was in critical condition at Mount Sinai, police said.

The shooting appears to be gang related.

Nobody is in custody as Area North detectives continue to investigate.
