Lollapalooza 2016: What you need to know

CHICAGO — Lollapalooza celebrates its 25th year with four – yes four – days in Chicago’s Grant Park.

The festival begins Thursday, July 28th and runs through Sunday, July 31st.  Gates open at 11 a.m. each day and the festival closes at 10 p.m. each night.


  • Thursday: J. Cole, Flosstradamus and Lana Del Rey
  • Friday: Radiohead and Major Lazer
  • Saturday: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vic Mensa and Disclosure
  • Sunday: LCD Soundsystem and Ellie Goulding

Street Closures:

Balbo closed from Columbus to Lake Shore Drive until Thursday, August 4.
Balbo also closed from Lake Shore Drive to Michigan Avenue.  Balbo, from Michigan to Columbus, will reopen Monday, August 1.

Jackson closed from Columbus to Lake Shore Drive until Wednesday, August 3.
Jackson from Michigan to Columbus will close Tuesday, July 26 and will remain closed until Monday, August 1.

Columbus closed from Monroe to Roosevelt until Monday, August 1.
Congress Parkway (including the Congress Circle) closed from Michigan to Columbus until Monday, August 1.
