CHICAGO — Twins from Chicago are raising the bar when it comes to high school achievements.

They’ve been accepted to a combined total of 56 colleges.

Deprice and Shaprice Hunt have earned nearly $1.6 million in scholarships.

The twins joined WGN Morning News Friday and said they had no idea they’d get into so many colleges.

“I was getting all these acceptance letters, I thought, wow – I must be a really good student. I’m still in shock,” Shaprice told WGN.

They say their mom was surprised, but knew the siblings had it in them.

Deprice says his influence to do well in school stemmed from his twin, Shaprice, “always being better” than him. He told WGN there was a friendly competition between the two, but they always supported each other.

Deprice has made the decision to attend Morehouse College, a private, all-male school in Atlanta, for drama and dance.

Shaprice has not decided yet, but says she wants to stay in state and continue playing basketball.

WGN Morning News ended the interview with a surprise for the twins — a personal invitation from Chicago rapper Common to his “Common Ground Foundation Gala” on Saturday night.

Congratulations to Shaprice and Deprice!
