Alec Baldwin’s character in the movie “Concussion” is based on real-life doctor, Julian Bailes. He worked with Dr. Bennett Omalu, played by Will Smith, to persuade the NFL to acknowledge the existence of CTE.

Dr. Bailes is Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery and Co-Director of Northshore University Healthsystem`s Neurological Institute.

He also serves as Medical Director for Pop Warner football, the largest youth sports association in the U.S.
