FRESNO, Calif. — A recent viral video gave viewers a dramatic peek into the everyday lives of firefighters.

Helmet-camera footage provided by the Fresno Fire Department was uploaded to YouTube by the Fresno Bee a couple of weeks ago. It showed the recent rescue of three children from an apartment fire.

As of Wednesday the video had nearly 400,000 views.

According to the Fresno Bee, the lives of three children were in danger when the fire broke out at the family’s apartment following what later appeared to be an electrical issue.

When firefighters responded to the fire they found the three children, one boy and two girls, ages 1, 3 and 4, respectively, according to the report.

The Bee reports the children were alone at the time of the fire.

According to the Bee, the mother arrived at the apartment after the fire broke out, and is cooperating with police.

The report said the children have been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services until an investigation is complete.

The children remained in critical condition Tuesday afternoon, Fresno Fire spokesman Pete Martinez told the Bee.
