FAIRDALE, Ill — Animal control has been on the scene since the F-4 tornado came through Fairdale, separating many families from their pets. The animal control team has been searching for missing pets, reunited many of them with their owners.

Regina Smola is one of the people who felt a need to help with the recovery in Fairdale.  So she created this Facebook page to connect victims with their animals.  From dogs and cats to chickens.

Regina is one of many people who have turned to social media for aid in the relief effort. More than 13 hundred people have registered to volunteer in the area, but more help is still needed – especially for displaced families and their pets.
