CHICAGO -- This week, people from across the country are here in Chicago for the annual Shared Use Mobility Summit.  WGN's Sarah Jindra stopped by to check out the new technology working to make transportation easier.

The summit allowed for many creators to gather in one location. The weeklong event showcases many new inventions and ideas.

"And the whole point of this, is to increase mobility for all," said Sharon Feigon, the executive director of the Shared Use Mobility Center.  "There are a lot of different folk who would like alternatives, and so some of the really creative people here are working on those kind of solutions."

Among the ideas was Car2Go, a car sharing company that allows for users to leave the company's vehicle in any legal parking space on the street for the next user.

"We have the ability to rent a car for short-term use and keep them for as long as you'd like," said Car2Go's Mike DeBonville.

The summit is set to end Wednesday, March 14.
