CHICAGO – It’s become one of the favorite ways for people to start their day.

A breakfast sandwich offers a convenient, tasty treat for those on the go and has been made in a number of different ways with various ingredients.

But people who think that these sandwiches are only an invention of the last few generations would be mistaken.

We talked about the history of breakfast sandwiches on the “6@6” on Wednesday’s WGN Morning News as the hosts filled us in on the long history of the breakfast food.
