Create indoor blooms with hardy, festive amaryllis plants, which area easy to pot and care for, if you water them right away and place in a warm, bright room.

Indoor houseplants are in their resting season right now, so you can wait until March to feed with fertilizer.

For the outdoors, protect your evergreens with Wilt-Pruf, which acts as a sealant – you can use it on holiday greens, too, to extend their freshness.

When ice and snow hit plants, you can de-ice them using calcium- or potassium-paced de-icing products.

Don’t forget to reuse and repurpose branches you cut from fresh, live Christmas trees. Use them as mulch for beds of ground covers and perennials.
