Tony's Tips:

There’s a convenient new way to plant bulbs this year: the Easy Bloom Pad

Look for new “collections” of bulbs from growers that offer mixtures of tulips, daffodils and different combinations of each type of flower.

Consider varieties that produce multiple flowers per bulb for a bountiful display of color and blooms next spring.

When planting bulbs, drop in four big bulbs per square foot, spaced six inches apart. For smaller bulbs, drop in nine bulbs per square foot, spaced four inches apart.

Look for earth-friendly fertilizers like Dr. Earth bulb food. After placing bulbs in the ground, cover them with a little soil then add fertilizer on top of the soil.

Keep away squirrels and other pesky rodents with repellents like Repels-All and Plant-Skyyd.
