Make a homework caddy for each child with everything they need to do homework

Use a shoebag organizer to house all the items needed for school like bus passes, keys, school ids, etc.

Create a hair caddy for little girls. Add to a basket a brush, detangler, lice spray, comb and small containers for elastics, barrettes and bows.

Organize family plans and activites on a bulletin board in a central location.

Snap pictures with your phone of class syllabuses, spelling lists etc. the day they come home so you always have them on hand.

Take a plastic bin that can fit in your refrigerator.  Fill it with cheese sticks, yogurt tubes, mini carrot packs, apple slices and pudding cups so you have all of the elements for lunch in one place.  Take a separate bin and put in dry snacks that you can easily grab for after school snacks, in school if you need to pack a snack, to use before after school activities. Buy in bulk to save money.

Before going to bed lay out cereal boxes and bowls and silverware, granola bars and fruit on the table so you're ready to go in the morning.

A great way to get back in the reading habit is to make it fun. Put pillows in the backyard and give your kids some books and flashlights and let them read under the stars.

If you got lax with screen time over the summer try implementing the coin system for screen time.  Lay out what kids need to do (i.e. 30 minutes of reading, some chores, maybe cleaning out last year's binder) in order to earn coins worth 15 minutes of screen time.
