This internship is designed for a student who is interested in gaining an understanding of how a daily newscast is brought to air.

Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to: editing videos for broadcast, researching stories, assisting in finding and booking newsmaker guests, locating archive video, monitoring social media posts and possible field producing. Interns will communicate closely with anchors, show producers, writers, and executive producer. Mature and professional conduct expected.

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be 18 or older and a registered student in good standing at an accredited college or university.
  • Must be able to work the hours required by department.
  • Students can receive university or college credit for participating in this program but need to handle paperwork involved.

Hours: 16 hours per week during a 13-18 week period.
