Tom Barnas is the host of the Chicago Scene.
Since joining WGN-TV in 2008, Tom has spent his tenure on the WGN Midday News, serving as the Around Town producer with Ana Belaval to his current role as a segment, digital, and Social Media Voice and producer for the WGN Morning News.
He started his career in Chicago radio prior to working at WGN-TV. Along with his digital duties, Tom is the mastermind behind the WGN Morning News Block Party, St. Patrick’s Day broadcast, WGN Food Drive, and the WGN Morning News Sports rallies.
Currently, Tom is the host of the Chicago Scene segment. A segment where Tom takes Chicagoans to unique places & people of Chicago. Giving many the opportunity to sample a part of Chicago you may never experience otherwise.
Tom is a graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He grew up on Chicago’s South Side watching Harry Caray and Cubs baseball on WGN. He currently resides in Chicago’s South Edgebrook neighborhood.
