    INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana dad says he was ticketed for trying to defend his son from an aggressive goose. James McDaniel and his four-year-old son, Ethan, were playing Wiffle ball in a field. McDaniel said a goose approached, fully opening its wings and started chasing his son. That’s when he stepped in and hit the bird with his son’s plastic bat.   • Suspect charged in deadly shooting on Dan Ryan Ramp in Chinatown

    CHICAGO – A  man charged in Wednesday’s  Dan Ryan Expressway shooting remains in the hospital undergoing mental evaluation. Saturday in bond court, a judge denied Jeremiah Holt bail.  Holt was already under electronic monitoring for weapons and stolen vehicle charges. Prosecutors say Holt walked up to a car on the Cermak off-ramp and shot and killed Jeremy Scullark. He also shot a 19-year-old passenger in the elbow.   • 4 face charges for fighting over shoes at Gurnee Mills Mall

    GURNEE, Ill. — Three people are wanted and a fourth has been arrested after a brawl at a north suburban mall. Police were called to the Gurnee Mills Mall on Monday for a report of a fight between several people. The fight stemmed from a dispute over shoes, and a video of it was later posted to social media, according to authorities. Gurnee officials were able to identify everyone involved.     NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Police are looking for a man who held up a nail salon in Naperville on Saturday.     CINCINNATI — Gunfire erupted inside a crowded nightclub early Sunday, killing one person and wounding more than a dozen others.There was no indication the shooting at the Cameo club was terrorism related, police said.   • Iowa attorney general sues makers of ‘drinkable sunscreen’

    The makers of a ‘drinkable sunscreen’ are being accused of dangerous consumer fraud. The Iowa attorney general’s office filed a lawsuit against the Colorado-based company Osmosis. According to Osmosis, the drinkable sunscreen — called UV Neutralizer — contains a form of radio frequencies called “scalar waves” that when ingested can block UVA and UVB waves.     SADDLE BROOK, NJ — Some quick-thinking drivers saved an elderly woman from being hit by a train in New Jersey. The 89-year-old woman was walking with two canes and attempted to cross the train tracks. When she was halfway through the crosswalk, the railroad crossing arms came down.
