The video shows 26-year-old Yingying Zhang entering a black Saturn Astra in Urbana on June 9th, according to police. Zhang was about a month into a year long appointment when she disappeared.     CHICAGO — A teenager is dead after an apparent shootout with police late Friday night in the Washington Park neighborhood. Two officers were responding to a call of a person with a gun near the 5800 block of S.     CHICAGO — Soldier Field’s summer concert season will kick off this weekend with U2’s performance. Authorities said they expect more than 50,000 people to attend on Saturday and Sunday night and security will be heightened.   • World’s first Nutella Cafe opens in Chicago

    CHICAGO — Nutella lovers can now head downtown for the cafe of their dreams. The world’s first Nutella Cafe opened this morning on Michigan Avenue and Lake Street near Millennium Park. The grand opening was held at 10 a.m. and the first 400 people in line were let in.  They received special Nutella Cafe Chicago jars of their favorite treat, along with croissants.   • Construction project begins to separate Lakefront Trail

    CHICAGO — Construction begins Monday to create separate bike and pedestrian paths on the Lakefront Trail. The project is designed to reduce congestion in busy areas. Crews have begun tearing up the pavement from Fullerton to North Avenue and from Oak Street to Ohio. Once complete in 2018, all 18 miles of the Lakefront Trail will have separate paths for cyclists and pedestrians. More information about detours are available on the Chicago Park District website.

  • One person killed in Oak Forest crash

    OAK FOREST, Ill. — One person is dead after a car crashed into at tree in Oak Forest. The Oak Forest Fire Department responded to a call of a traffic accident at 5:17 a.m. in the 6200 block of Victoria Drive. When they arrived, they found a car wrapped around a tree engulfed in flames. Officials have not yet released any information about the victim. The crash is under investigation.

  • Bond set at $100,000 for man charged in fatal hit-and-run near Willowbrook

    WILLOWBROOK, Ill. — Bond is set at $100,000 for a man charged in the hit-and-run death of Abin Matthew Thursday. 19-year-old Marlon Myles of Willowbrook is accused of causing the crash. The DuPage County Sheriff says Myles was behind the wheel of a 1999 Buick when the crash happened late Wednesday near Route 83 and Mockingbird Lane.   • Illinois State Trooper injured in Dan Ryan accident

    CHICAGO — An Illinois State Trooper was injured after his squad car was involved in an accident. According to State Police, he was on the northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan near the I-290 interchange at 12:40 a.m. Initial reports suggested he was waiting for a tow truck when his car was rear ended.   • Woman wounded in shooting on Kennedy Expressway

    CHICAGO — A woman was shot early Sunday morning while traveling on the Kennedy Expressway on the North Side. According to Illinois State Police, the woman was in the outbound lanes near Fullerton at 3:55 a.m. when she was shot in the leg. She was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center.  Officials have not released her age or condition. The shooting closed all lanes between Armitage and Fullerton, but were reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
