  • Driver hurt in River North crash

    CHICAGO — A driver had to be rescued when he lost control of his car and smashed into a building in River North early Saturday. The man’s Hyundai hit a building on State Street near Huron Street about 3 a.m. Saturday. The driver was pinned inside; firefighters extricated him from the vehicle. He was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. No one else was hurt. Witnesses said the man was speeding. Police are investigating.

    CHICAGO — A 33-year-old man was identified as the victim in a fatal South Side shooting early Saturday morning, Arthur Delaney, 33, was shot and killed inside his home near Drexel Avenue and 130th Place around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.   • Over 100 firefighters battle massive fire in North Side apartment building

    CHICAGO — More than 100 Chicago firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire that tore through the city’s Ravenswood neighborhood overnight. The fire started in a 3-story apartment building in the 5100 block of north Paulina just after 1 a.m. Saturday, then spread to another 2-story home next door.   • Thieves Target Senior Citizens On Northwest Side

    Chicago, ILL- Overnight another elderly couple was robbed inside their home on the city’s northwest side. Police say a robber climbed through a back window of a home on west wellington, just after 1 a.m this morning in the city’s belmont cragin neighborhood.  The thief approached the 84 year old homeowner and his wife and implied he had a weapon.
