  • Boys drown in neighborhood pond in Hobart

    Two boys were pulled from a pond in a Hobart, Indiana Saturday night. Officers received a 911 call that two boys had fallen into a neighborhood pond, police said. The boys were taken to St. Mary Medical Center, and were pronounced dead. The condition and ages of the boys is not known. Check back for more information.  

  • JetBlue apologizes to mom, daughter after bathroom incident

    JetBlue Airways has apologized to a mother, who said her daughter was denied access to a bathroom and had an accident in her seat. The mom says a flight attendant told her the 3-year-old girl couldn’t get up to go to the bathroom during a delay on the tarmac at JFK Airport. After a half hour, the toddler urinated in the seat.   • Dog survives a 15-story fall from Florida high rise

    A dog is recovering, after it fell through a pipe shaft in Florida and tumbled down 15 stories of a high rise building! Susie, a Maltipoo, fell through a wall in the upper floor. Authorities found the dog had landed in a pipe shaft on the second floor. Fire crews cut holes above and below the second floor to try to get the dog.   • Boy drowns at Saint Charles country club

    Police in Saint Charles are still piecing together the details of how a four-year-old boy drowned at the Royal Fox Country club. It happened Saturday afternoon. Police arrived at the resort, after responding to a call that someone was in cardiac arrest. The boy was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police are calling the death a “personal tragedy”.

  • Teen killed, 11 wounded in city shootings

    A 17-year-old boy was killed and 11 others were wounded in shootings across the city Saturday afternoon and night. The night’s lone homicide happened in the 3100 block of  West Polk Street in the city’s East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, about two blocks south of the 11th District police station.   • Man fatally struck by car in Jefferson Park

    A man is dead after he was hit by a car in Jefferson Park. It happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 5900 block of N. Elston Avenue. The man, 77, was crossing the street when he was struck by the car, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 45-year-old woman was cited for hitting the man, and driving without insurance. According to police, alcohol was not a factor in the accident.  

  • Car crashes into home on Southwest Side

    A car crashed into a house on the city’s Southwest side, lodging itself almost completely inside. It happened overnight Saturday in the 3300 block of S. Western Avenue. The Dodge Neon ended up going completely into the basement of the home. No one inside was hurt. The driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Police have not said what caused the crash.

  • Peace rally held on last day for CPS students

    Hundreds of people marched for peace on the South Side. The march was held near St. Sabina Church Friday night. This message was especially important to the families of shooting victims. Later on, many took the time to read the names of the 105 children and young adults who were killed in chicago gun violence since September of 2013.
