Fact-checking the real case that inspired ‘The Exorcist’

It’s been called the scariest movie of all time. 1973’s The Exorcist. Directed by Chicago native (and WGN-TV alum) William Friedkin, the movie is based on a book of the same name, which itself is based on a “real” case in 1949.

A psychologist obtained documents from the Church investigation of that case, and Larry Potash gives them a hard look.
