"Any time we have violence within our city streets it’s horrific, the Chicago Police Department is in tune with keeping our children safe on the streets so this one hits personally hard," police Capt. Terry McMahon said.

Area Central detectives are investigating. The location where the shooting occurred is an area police in the 4th District don't associate with gang violence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
