Five killed, dozens shot over holiday weekend

Chicago -- 66 people were wounded in shootings in Chicago over the 4th of July holiday weekend. Five were killed.

The numbers come despite increased efforts by Chicago police to saturate high crime and traffic areas.

The numbers are fairly similar to shooting statistics in recent years.

Last year, 58 people were shot and 10 were killed. The year before 87 people were wounded at 14 killed.
