Man, 50, killed in Longwood Manor fire

CHICAGO — A 50-year-old man died Friday in a fire in Longwood Manor on Chicago’s South Side.

Chicago police said fire crews responded to a blaze in a home in the 9800 block of South Sangamon Street around 10:25 p.m. Friday. The man was discovered inside the residence.

He was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
