Person struck, killed by Metra train in Highland Park

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. — Metra service from Highland Park was disrupted Friday evening after a person was hit and killed by a train.

The Union Pacific North Line train hit the victim near the Highland Park train station. Inbound and outbound trains were halted. Service resumed with with extensive delays.

Officials haven’t released the victims identity or details about the incident.
