Alderman to endorse controversial Lincoln Yards project

CHICAGO — A controversial redevelopment project in Lincoln Park is a step closer.

Ald.  Brian Hopkins endorsed the "Lincoln Yards" project.

It no longer includes a controversial soccer stadium or entertainment district. Instead, a park has been proposed that would include baseball and soccer fields.

The Chicago Plan Commission considers the project Thursday.
