Man fatally shot outside convenience store in West Englewood

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was fatally shot outside of a West Englewood convenience store Monday afternoon.

The man was shot in the chest outside of a convenience store on the 2000 block of West 63rd Street around 4:30 p.m. Police said the man was standing in the parking lot when he was approached by two men who fired shots at him. Police said he sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was hospitalized at the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition and later died.

No one was taken into custody.
