Chicago police officer injured after West Side crash

CHICAGO — A Chicago police officer was injured after a crash on the city’s West Side.

The crash happened on the 5300 block of West Madison Street around 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. Police said the officers were responding to a domestic battery call when they swerved to avoid an accident and struck a light pole.

One of the officers was taken to the hospital in good condition.
