Smashing Pumpkins listening party at Adler Planetarium

The Smashing Pumpkins hosted a listening party during WGN Morning News' Primetime Special Wednesday night.

165 of the Pumpkins' biggest fans packed Chicago's Adler Planetarium for the debut of their new album.

The album, titled "Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun," is the band's first LP in 18 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlain, who are joined by guitarist Jeff Schroeder. The Smashing Pumpkins' new album is set to be released Friday, Nov. 16.

WGN's Around Town Reporter Ana Belaval was there for it all, and sat down with Corgan --accompanied by his 2-year-old son -- and Schroeder for an interview. The two also held a Q&A with fans.
