First annual Chicago Japanese matsuri celebrates country’s food, arts

CHICAGO — The first annual Chicago Japanese Matsuri (summer festival) brought a little bit of Japan to Lincoln Park Sunday. Martial arts performances, art, sake and regional dishes were all in the offering.

Organizers hope to continue this first of its kind festival and its spirit and traditions for generations to come.
