14-year-old boy dead after drive-by shooting in Washington Park

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy died after a Washington Park drive-by early Saturday morning, according to officials.

Police said the shooting happened on the 5600 block of South Wabash Avenue around 3 a.m. Saturday. The child was walking on the sidewalk when someone in a dark-colored sedan fired shots.

The boy was hit multiple times and taken to Comers Children Hospital in serious condition. He later died from his injuries.

No one is in custody.
