Scattered moderate to isolated strong thunderstorms will continue to move northeast across the immediate Chicago area early this Wednesday morning.

A band of eastward-moving moderate to a few strong thunderstorms will spread across our area this Wednesday morning – moving off into Indiana by noon CDT.

Later this afternoon, as a cold front approaches and passes through from the west, strong to possibly severe storms are expected to develop along and ahead of the frontal system. A Slight Risk (yellow-shaded area on the highlighted map depicting a 15% chance of severe storms within 25 miles of a given location) of severe storms will exist from Chicago south and east, with a Marginal Risk elsewhere. Damaging winds and large hail could occur in the severe storms.

Showers/thunderstorms will end from the west this evening.
