Man stabbed on CTA Blue Line train, police say

CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man was stabbed on a CTA Blue Line train Monday morning.

The man was riding the train inbound in the 400 block of South Racine Avenue when he was stabbed in his abdomen following a verbal altercation with an “unknown male offender” about 7:20 a.m. Monday, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had stabilized.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his 30s who is roughly 6-foot-4 and weighs 220 pounds. The man was wearing blue jeans, a red jacket and black Nike gym shoes.

Detectives are investigating.
