Firefighters battle fire at South Side pallet factory

CHICAGO – Firefighters battled an extra alarm fire on the city’s South Side Monday evening at a pallet factory.

The fire broke out at B&S Pallet Corp. at 550 West Root Street in Canaryville Monday night around 7 p.m. The fire was raised to a 2-11 alarm by 7:30 p.m., according to the Chicago Tribune. It was under control by around 8 p.m.

The fire took place on a residential street that has a mix of newer and older buildings, the Tribune said.
