Storms that prompted the season’s first severe weather warnings are exiting the area. However, new storms are developing across northern Illinois.  Of greatest concern at this time are cells over northwest Illinois which are displaying severe  characteristics on radar. These storms may be affecting Boone, and perhaps McHenry counties later this evening.

All of northern Illinois remains under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 PM CDT.
