Man stabbed in the Loop

CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man was stabbed in the Loop on Friday night.

The victim was walking in the 100 block of West Van Buren Street about 8:40 p.m. Friday when someone in a dark jacket approached and began talking, police said. That man then stabbed the victim in his abdomen and neck. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where his condition had stabilized.

No one was in custody.
