LAKE FOREST, Ill. – His name is hard to pronounce, but it’s easy to see why the Bears drafted Joel Iyiegbuniwe to start Day 3.
The Western Kentucky pass rusher wrapped up his junior year as a first-team all-conference linebacker, leading the Hilltoppers with 116 tackles and 11.5 tackles for a loss.
Iyiegbuniwe measures out at 6’1″, 229 pounds with a 35 inch vertical and a 4.60 40-yard dash time.
“I’m pretty surprised. I know they have a history of linebackers, but like I said I didn’t really have any contact with them so it wasn’t something I was expecting or anything. I’m excited, man. I was born in Chicago so it’s pretty awesome.”
For those not brave enough to say his name in full, he also goes by Iggy.
