CHICAGO — The White Sox are straying from straws at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Starting on April 22, the Sox will no longer give them out automatically with drinks.

You can still get a biodegradable straw, but you’ll have to ask for one.

It’s part of an initiative with the Shedd Aquarium to eliminate plastic straws from stadiums because of their impact on the environment.

They are difficult to recycle, and wind up in waterways.

Americans use 500 million straws each day.
