*After a promising first six games of the season (36 runs), the Chicago White Sox’s offense has struggled mightily – especially with men in scoring position (13 runs the last seven games).

*Continuing a trend from a season ago, the Oakland A’s are prolific home-run hitters, averaging 1.44/game, second only to the Yankees in MLB.  The team’s 23 homers through 17 games are the most for the A’s at this point in a season since 2002, when they had 24.

*White Sox swing and miss %  AL rank: Matt Davidson (37.5/5th)/Yoan Moncada        (34.6/9th)/Tim Anderson(34.0/13th)/Nicky Delmonico (32.9/15th).

*A season ago, Miguel Gonzalez allowed opponents to hit .186 with two strikes, not far from the MLB average of .176. In 2018, opposition hitters have a .450 average off Gonzalez with two strikes.
