Lynfred Winery and the Lynfred Winery Bed & Breakfast is the state's oldest continually-operating winery.  The winery was founded in 1974 by Lynn and Fred Koehler – hence the “Lynfred” name. The Koehlers started Lynfred in a beautifully restored 1912 house in Roselle, and began selling wine produced from California grapes out of the cellar in 1975. The unique house - with its bed and breakfast on the second floor - is still its primary location, and Lynfred has opened tasting rooms in Wheeling, Wheaton and Naperville.
