CHICAGO -- Former Chicago Cubs player David Ross is using his fame to help local families take care of their kids.

Ross teamed up with Huggies and Walgreens to donate diapers to parents experiencing need. The effort is part of a national initiative.

According to some estimates, one in three families in the United States struggle to provide diapers for their babies and toddlers.

Ross presented a $10,000 check, along with 250,000 diapers to the nonprofit, Cradles to Crayons.
