CHICAGO — If you drove along I-290 last week, you may have spotted bright red letters asking: "♥ Annamarie, will you marry me?"

WGN's Sarah Jindra tracked down Annamarie — whose longtime boyfriend, Angel, popped the question using red pool noodles he cut into 2-inch strips and attached to a bridge.

Angel said he's known Annamarie for 14 years.

On the day of the proposal, Angel feigned car trouble and asked Annamarie to pick him on the side of the highway. Annamarie was so concerned about Angel, the couple said, that she didn't even notice the proposal until Angel pointed to the bridge and got down on one knee.

She said yes.
