Police seize $3 million of marijuana in Skokie raid

CHICAGO — Police seized more than $3 million of marijuana in a Skokie raid, officials said.

Chicago police officers executed a warrant in a Skokie home in the 4800 block of North Kirk Street about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release. It was not immediately clear why Chicago officers executed the warrant in Skokie.

Police found 423 pounds of marijuana, which officers said has an estimated street value of more than $3 million. Police also recovered four handguns, a shotgun and a large amount of cash.

David Gutierrez, 31, of the same block, is charged with manufacturing and delivering marijuana, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

He was slated to appear in bond court Saturday.
