Chicago police officer injured in crash

Chicago — An officer was injured Saturday when an SUV crashed into his squad car.

The officer was conducting a traffic stop at 71st Street and Harvard Avenue in Englewood when a Dodge Durango hit the back of the man’s squad car.

The 36-year-old officer was pinned between the two cars. He was taken to a hospital with a minor leg injury.

The driver of the Durango was also taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police said alcohol may have played a part in the crash.
