Girl, 10, kicks man in groin after he attempted to grab her on South Side

CHICAGO — Chicago police say a man tried to grab a 10-year-old girl as she walked home from school.

It happened near 71st and East End Avenue Thursday afternoon in the city’s South Shore neighborhood.

The man offered to take her to a candy store, but the girl ignored him.

He then followed her, and grabbed her arm. She kicked him in the groin, ran home with the man chasing her, police said.

The girl found her father, and the man ran away.

Police describe the man as black, 6 feet to 6-foot-2 and weighing 160 to 170 pounds. He had a mark under his left eye and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a black  jacket, a face mask with teeth on the front, black jeans and black shoes.
