Bundle up the kids as they leave for school! Friday will seem just like late December – we’ll start off the day with early morning temperatures in the teens and single-digit wind chills, while snow showers hit northwest Indiana. As the day goes on, winds will gradually shift from the northeast to the east and then southeast, and snow showers will gradually maneuver back to the west over the city and along the Illinois Lake Michigan shoreline. Snow will probably not reach far inland so that locations away from the city will likely see just partly cloudy skies.

High temperatures will struggle to reach into the 30s making this the coldest day since the middle of last March. The cold will moderate somewhat with southerly winds boosting temperatures close to the 40 degree mark Saturday. Rain looks to return Sunday.
