Wines featured today include:

Chateau St. Jean “Robert Young Vineyard” Chardonnay, Alexander Valley 2015

Winemaker notes: This wine hosts vivid aromas of stone fruit, honeysuckle blossom and fresh cantaloupe melon. A core of bright citrus and ripe pear flavors with a slight spicy note of clove are framed in an elegant, silky texture. Lively and balanced acidity keeps the purity of the fruit vibrant throughout the finish.

Chateau St. Jean “Cinq Cepages” Sonoma County 2013

Winemaker notes: The 2013 growing season in Sonoma County was long with mild temperatures resulting in very high quality fruit coming into the winery. The 2013 Cinq Cepages captures the highlights of this vintage. The opening bouquet offers layers of aromas including black raspberry, sweet currant, lifted perfumed violet and notes of baking chocolate. Secondary aromas of roasted coffee and nuanced notes of Earl Gray tea and spice add complexity. The aromas lead to a plush palate with depth of flavors including raspberry compote and dark chocolate. The full-bodied wine is rich and refined with well-integrated, ripe tannins giving good structure. In signature Cinq Cepages form, this wine combines the strength of the diverse Sonoma County region to create an approachable, well-balanced and elegant wine.

Stags’ Leap Winery Chardonnay, Napa Valley 2015

Winemaker notes: Aromas of bright lemon citrus, fresh green apple with hints of subtle elderflower fill the glass and pique your interest in this crisp Chardonnay. On the palate, you’ll find a classic refreshing Chardonnay with a vibrancy of citrus that transitions into lemon curd while also maintaining a roundness in texture that is balanced (hinting at the delicate battonage lees stirring during the winemaking process). With a nutty hazelnut undertone and spicy white pepper, exotic floral finish, this wine is focused, yet generous in style and maintains freshness due to its acidity which creates a Chardonnay of lovely complexity and depth.

Stags’ Leap Winery Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2014

Winemaker notes: The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with generous dark cherry, juicy plum, currant, and cassis, while accents of black pepper and chocolate give it a classic feel. Seamlessly integrated oak and refined tannins provide wonderful texture while the bright, fresh fruit flavors balance the wine’s impressive concentration.
