CHICAGO -- There are some unhappy car owners in the city's Jefferson Park neighborhood after the catalytic converters were stolen from their vehicles.

In all, eight cars were targeted in about five days.

The thefts happened in a small area during the night or early morning hours.

The converters can be stolen in just minutes.

They contain platinum, or other precious metals, and can be sold for hundreds of dollars.
