CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The solar eclipse's path of totality passed through Carbondale, Ill., at 1:18 p.m. on Monday causing the town to go dark for a few moments.

WGN's Tom Skilling was live in Carbondale to witness the event.

The next total eclipse will be visible in the United States on April 8, 2024.
